What I look for
before backing a business.

Before Alajnaf Inc. invests a dollar, a business has to pass a simple test. Here is the checklist I use, and why an operator's eye matters.

I invest the way I operate: up close, with a long view. Alajnaf Inc. backs businesses with real customers, clear economics and room to grow. Here is what that means in practice.

1. Real customers, not just a good idea

Ideas are cheap. Customers who pay, come back and tell others are rare. The first thing I look at is who is buying today and why. A business with a small group of loyal customers is often stronger than one with a big pitch and no traction.

2. Economics I can explain in one sentence

If I can't explain how a business makes money in one sentence, I don't understand it well enough to invest. I want to know what it costs to win a customer, what that customer is worth, and what happens to the margin as the business grows.

3. A business I understand from the inside

I've spent my career building teams, sales channels and operations. I put money where I understand how the work actually gets done and how the business wins. That way I can bring more than capital. I can help.

4. People I trust

Strong leaders build strong companies. I look for founders and operators with drive and integrity, people who tell the truth when the news is bad. Numbers can be fixed. Character usually can't.

5. A fair price

A great business at the wrong price can still be a bad investment. Discipline means walking away when the math doesn't work, even when I like the story.

6. Room to grow

Finally, I ask where the business can be in ten years, not ten months. I look for a market with room, a team that wants to build, and a reason the business gets stronger as it gets bigger.

Why patience wins

Good businesses compound when they're given time. My job is to find them, back the people running them, and stay for the long run.
